Road Closures in Swafield
I met with Barhale’s Site Manger, Barhale’s are the Main Contractor responsible for the sewerage scheme under construction. The gentleman gave me a set of plans showing the closures with dates together with the diversion route. The street in Swafield will be closed to through traffic from it’s junction with Bradfield Road to the junction with Little London Road from 7th January 2019 until the 3rd February. After that, The street will will closed to through traffic from the junction with Knapton Road/Trunch (at the sharp bend) to Bradfield Road from 4th February until 19th March. This means that no traffic from Trunch and North of Trunch will be able to gain access to North Walsham using The Street in Swafield between 7th January until 19th March. The official diversion is via Mundesley but an alternative is via Southrepps to Thorpe Market then using the A149 to North Walsham. There will also be closures in and around Bradfield village. There will be occasions when the The Street will appear passable but if you use this, as the contractor pointed out, you will do so at your own risk. Not good news but main sewers are much needed in Swafield.
