“It is better to know us and not need us, rather than need us and not know us.”

Modelling – the Bare Facts” by Ruth Smith

When we saw that the title of this month’s talk was “Modelling – the Bare Facts” some of us wondered what to expect. In fact it was a very amusing account of Ruth Smith’s career as a middle-aged life model. There was much laughter as she described the various Norfolk venues where she had worked and demonstrated some of the many poses that she had adopted. At times she had worked with other models but “no touching was allowed if they were men – for health and safety reasons” The funniest parts were accounts of the unexpected – the double-decker bus waiting at traffic lights next to an upstairs studio, the boats going past Wensum Lodge and the dustbin mens’ visit to a country garden.

The afternoon also included a lovely strawberry tea and news of members’ activities and successes – there are some clever people in Trunch!

There is no meeting in August but on September 14th. at 2 p.m. in the village hall Don Birch from the Beechwood Hotel in North Walsham will give a talk entitled “Running a small hotel in the country” Any visitors or new members will be made most welcome.
